Rum Runners and Recipes

Since there have been requests for my rum recipes I thought it would be easier to just post a blog.... so here they are.... I hope you all enjoy them.... CHEERS!

QuarterMaster's Bojitos (Mojitos)WARNING: this recipe is for a LARGE quantity!

a "butt load" of fresh limes (squeezed and juiced)
2 qt water
4 cups sugar
light rum
liter of club soda
mint sprigs
Heat water on stove and stir in sugar, and half mint sprigs. heat until sugar is completely melted...strain out mint sprigs.
Squeeze the lime juice into a separate container....
to make mojito use this combination:1 part sugar/mint water
1 part club soda
2 parts lime juice
1 part rumgarnish with mint sprig (be sure to rub leaves to extract mint essence)
Serve in chilled glass over ice....Thanks to my Quarter Master Bo, for his wonderful recipe!!!

Rum Runners.... frozen drink

1oz Vodka
1/2 oz Blackberry Brandy
1/2 oz Banana Liqueur
1 oz Light rum... ( I always put a little more in.... cuz I likes the rum)
1/4 oz Lime juice
splash of pineapple juice
1/2 oz grenadine
splash of sweet and sour mix

Blend at high speed until smooth. Float 1/4 oz 151 proof rum as an optional extra. Garnish with a lime wheel and cherry. You can also ad fresh fruit to the blender it some volume and more flavor... just add more rum to your liking.

Rum Punch::

6 oz rum ( with fruity drinks light rum is best)
3 oz lime juice
3 oz orange juice
3 oz pineapple juice
2 oz simple syrup (or grenadine)

Combine in shaker with ice.... shake it up and pour it in tall glasses... garnish with wedge of orange

Pirate Punch: You can make this non alcoholic for the kiddies too:
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 qt cranberry juice
3 cups Orange juice
3 cups pineapple juice
1 sliced orange...
1 liter chilled ginder ale

Mix all ingredients (except the ginger ale and rum) in a container and chill in fridge for an hour.... when ready to serve.... add giner ale and light rum to your liking!!!
