It all has to start somewhere....

Well, all things have to start somewhere... so lets start with a little about me...

I am a 43 yr. old, Mom who lives in Sunny Cali.
I have a wonderful 12 yr. old daughter who is the reason I live and breathe.
We have 1 horse (a retired Team Penning horse), 3 dogs ~ Chance, Mister and Missy, 1 cat ~ Dartanion (who is a HUGE black cat), 1 rat ~ Jasmine, several fish tanks and 9 chickens including a rooster.

I love gardening, renaissance faires, pirate faires and hanging out with my friends.

Here are some pics of us all at our local faire... Southern California Renaissance Pleasure Faire. This faire originally started back in the 70's as a living history for education... as the years went on it became a place for people to "dress up" in period costumes and live in the era. This faire, so I have been told, is the "original" renaissance faire that started all the faires across the country...

Opening day of "Big" Faire 2008... There are several groups here: The Drunken Dragons, Minxie's Crew, Spilt Beers, Clan of Bliss, and a few Knott's "Scary" Farm haunt monsters

Here is a small representation of me crew

Closing weekend of "Big" Faire 2008

Here we are this last weekend at another local faire in Corona....

We even have movie stars at our faire... this is Michael Booker
Last year Hugh Hefner and his "girls" were at the faire filming for their "Girls Next Door" show. This year Tommy Lee Jones was there as well as the "pirate crew" from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Well, thats really all about me for now.... Whew.... this was interesting.... Stay tuned for more adventures to come...
Ok... my cheese curds JUST arrived... Rod says to MAKE SURE they are room temperature before eating.... so I am patiently waiting... so I can experience them.... :)

Take care of you....

Thanks Lotus.... just about every time I go to faire I look different.... I have a closet full of faire clothes! (belly dancers, wench, pirate, Commodore just to name a few!) I hope you are enjoying the rum recipes! :)

Thank Vicky.... you should dress up for the faire... it makes it a totally different experience! And if you can sew at all you can make some great stuff. I had to learn to sew to support my faire habit. LOL...
LOVE the cheese curds... I am hooked for sure.
If you want the rum recipes, just email me... I will be happy to share them with you....

Hi Minxie. This is my first visit to your blog. Cool! My sister and her family go to the Renaissance fair that blazenfire911 mentioned. They go every year and they dress up too. We are going to go this summer. My kids should love it.

I had to check out your blog, Minxie! Love the faire stuff. Never been to one, but I have always wanted to. I know my kids would love it!

I'm jealous - you have a JD/CJS impersonator of your own.

I didn't know there are pirate faires. Where are these located?? I went to the Ren. Faire many years ago here in WI. It's down in Bristol. It was so much fun. I keep meaning to get back each year but it never happens.

Cheese curds rock. I love them the best when they are beer battered and deep fried. MMMMMM fried cheese.
